Introduction
A Hindu festival which is also known as “Vinayaka Chaturthi or Vinayaka Chavithi” which is observed in the states like Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Goa, etc, to celebrate the birth of Ganesha for ten days followed by Viserjan which is immersing the Idol in the water. The festivals fall in the months of August and September.
How Ganesha is associated with Marriage?
Lord Ganesha, son of Parvati and Shiva, is known to be the God of Beginnings, Intelligence, Wisdom, Remover of Obstacles which is why many people worship him before weddings for the event to go smoothly. It is also believed that it brings prosperity to a couple’s life.
It’s a great opportunity if the marriage falls around the festival for good fortune into the marriage. The Puja Ceremony involves both the bride and groom while it is mandatory for the groom to be present and the bride can participate in the ending. It helps in attracting good energy and hence is very good for a healthy marital life.
Usually, there are lots of Idols available but the best is Clay Idols which is eco-friendly. People make sweets like Modak and Ladoos as Ganesha love sweets. It depends from region to region and is something which must be experienced. It brings us all together to enjoy the festival with happiness.
